To provide rapid Chemical Oxygen Demand analysis for a range of their effluent streams.
The ability to measure quickly with low maintenance is imperative for this application. The QuickCOD Ultra was able to be set up without extensive correlation data normally needed for methods such as TOC. The Paperboard production plant generates a range of low and high strength effluent streams which contain a a high degree of solid material.
The analyser needs to be able to measure the effluent without requiring filtration to give a true indication of the COD loading rates to their effluent treatment plant. Generally online analysers and paper mill wastewater don't go well together. The wastewater tends to foul and blog the wetted parts e.g. sample tubes , sample pump , solenoids, vessels, reactor etc. The QuickCOD Ultra is well suited to handle this type of effluent with minimal wetted tubes and the catalyst free high temperature oven at 1200oC oxidises the complete sample, solids included.
Initial test results using the Lab COD test method and the QuickCOD Ultra showed an excellent correlation without requiring any correlation factors.
