Chemical Oxygen Demand is a measure of the organic load in a substance and, is therefore important as a measure of pollution, quantifying organic product loss and calculating effluent charges.

The QuickCODultra uses high temperature oxidation to oxidise the sample, and measures the resulting drop in oxygen level.

This method gives a direct measurement of C.O.D. using robust technology, which gives a continuous output of Chemical Oxygen Demand value.

Macherey and Nagel manufacture a range of benchtop and portable photometers and test kits available from Envitech Ltd in the UK.

This range covers a variety of water and wastewater parameters including Chemical Oxygen Demand. All of the photometers can measure COD, right down to the PF3-COD, the most compact photometer in the range.

COD tests require a digestion phase, we can supply heating blocks from Macherey Nagel for COD applications. The MN range includes mini portable heating blocks, and other blocks for specific applications.
